An event organised at any premises can be applied for with a Temporary Events Notice so long as the number of people in attendance is under 500.

Large scale events, when the number of people exceed 499, will need to be accounted for by a premises licence application. This is regardless of whether the event lasts for a couple of hours or a week. When planning a small or large scale event it is important to take into account the risk assessment as to how your event is going to run safely, which will of course link into the licensing of the event.

In addition to requiring a licence for the sale of alcohol, various regulated entertainment and possibly the sale of hot food for larger events, you will be required to attend a Safety Advisory Group meeting to liaise with various public bodies who will want to find out from you how your event is going to be operated safely and see your event management plan. We have dealt with many such events and can provide expert advice in relation to their operation.
