Clock change – are you covered?
09/03/2015On Sunday 27th March at 1am, the time will automatically become 2am as we enter the British summer time. However, the one less hour of sleep could be the last of your worries if your premises are not covered for licensable activities after 1 am.
Here are some helpful pointers to ensure you are covered;
Check your current licence as the permission will be identified on it. If there is no mention then you are not covered.
If you do not have this extra hour included in your licence and you want to trade, then an application for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) can be made. The last date for standard applications is 13th March 2015, however late TENs can be issued 20th March 2015.
Be aware! Premises that are not covered will be known to the enforcement agencies such as the police and trading standards. So if you wish to stay open, get your licence sorted.
