Dentist Direct, which is based in Houghton-le-Spring, uses the latest technology to avoid drills and syringes wherever possible is to open a branch in Dubai.

The new branch will be run by Dr Neil Mitchell, who is originally from Newcastle but has worked in Dubai for seven years.

Dr Mitchell said ‘I’m so excited to start introducing patients to the advanced technology we have in the practice making every visit a pleasure – I know they’ll love it!’

Dentist Direct’s CEO Craig Huntingdon said ‘Opening in Dubai has been a real step forward for us proving that the patient proposition is globally appealing.  We continue to put patients at the centre of everything we do.’

Dentist Direct uses technology like Waterlase lasers, which can replace drills in most cases and The Wand, a syringe free alternative for numbing the mouth.

In addition to the advanced technology, the firm tries to woo patients with early morning and late evening appointments, customer car parking and interiors which aim to make their practices look more like spas than traditional dentists.

As well as the extension in Dubai, the firm is finalising a deal that will see it expand in the UK.  The corporate team at Mincoffs Solicitors, led by Partner John Nicholson and assisted by Solicitor Chris Hughes, has acted for Dentist Direct since its inception and continues to provide legal assistance and support to the company with their expansion plans.
