Licensing changes to Temporary Events Notices

05/01/2016

Share

New changes to Temporary Events Notices (TENs) mean that licensed premises are able to extend their trading hours in order to run three more events each year.

This means premises can host 15 local events per year (previously 12) with no more than 499 attendees. There will still be an aggregate of 21 days to use within these 15 events, and events can still last up to 7 days.  If there are 500 people or more, it will be necessary for a Premises License to be obtained, even if it is for a one off event.

If you need any help in applying for temporary events notices we can submit these on your behalf.  Please contact Matt Foster, Partner and Head of Mincoffs Solicitors Licensing and Gaming department on 0191 212 7702 or email mfoster@mincoffs.co.uk
