Mincoffs to Hold Later Life Planning Seminar09/08/2019
It’s well established that the UK demographic is ageing and on average people are living longer with more of us developing a need of care in later life. By 2030, the average life expectancy in the UK is projected to reach 85.7 years for men and 87.6 years for women. That’s the good news.
The not so good news is that for many this may mean the latter years of an extended lifespan subject to the natural processes of ageing, including illness, mobility issues and cognitive decline. For some, this means a need for either healthcare, social care or both.
Mincoffs Solicitors’ Wills, Probate and Trusts team, alongside chartered financial planners, Laurus Associates and My Care Consultant would like to invite you to think about later life planning and the considerations related to care at our next seminar at Holiday Inn, Jesmond on Thursday 26th September.
This informal but informative seminar will cover topics including: the importance of putting Wills and lasting powers of attorney in place; paying for care – benefits, portfolios, primary residence and debunking myths; record keeping and gifts; the role of a care navigator; an overview of the health and social care system in England; and where to go for help and advice.
Our speakers are experts in their fields and will try to get you thinking about the plans you have in place for your future, whilst also setting minds at ease about some common misconceptions.
