Pharmacy group makes latest acquisition

A North East pharmacy group has expanded its reach by acquiring a business in Tyne & Wear.

Houghton Pharmacy in County Durham has been sold to Whitfield’s Pharmacy Group, a family-run business comprising of eight sites across the region. Its first branch opened in 1919 with the company currently run by fourth generation members of the Whitfield family.

Christie Finance assisted Whitfield’s on the deal with a funding boost and Newcastle law firm Mincoffs provided legal advice.
