Mincoffs Solicitors are pleased to announce that they recently advised Northern Bear PLC on renewed bank facilities with Yorkshire Bank.

Northern Bear, through its subsidiary companies, provides a variety of specialist building and support services to local authorities, housing associations, NHS trusts, universities, construction companies and house builders throughout Northern England. These services include roofing services, materials handling, and a wide spectrum of specialist building services including fire protection, general building services, health and safety consultancy, and unmanned aerial imagery.

The Group has recently secured a number of high profile contracts, including the restoration of Souter Lighthouse, a historic landmark in South Shields, and large scale roofing contracts including St Georges Quarter in Huddersfield.

Sean Hale (Senior Director) and John Bullock (Director) of the Bank’s Specialist and Acquisition Finance team led the transaction. Paul Castle from Eversheds LLP in Leeds advised Yorkshire Bank and John Nicholson from Mincoffs Solicitors LLP advised Northern Bear.

Sean Hale, Senior Director, said: “We are delighted to have renewed and extended facilities for Northern Bear. We view Northern Bear as a well-managed business with a focus on specific building and support services to the construction sector. We are pleased to continue our 9 year relationship with the company.
Our activity in the North East of England continues to be strong, and we look forward to working with and supporting other businesses in the region to achieve their growth ambitions.”

Tom Hayes, Finance Director at Northern Bear, commented: “Yorkshire Bank has provided our bank facilities for a number of years and is a valued partner for our business. They supported us throughout the severe recession following the financial crisis in 2008 which gave us the opportunity to improve both operational performance and our capital structure in recent years. I am delighted that we now have committed facilities in place for the medium term. “
