The Personal License Holders (APLH) training course covers all topics required to achieve the necessary qualification to apply for a personal licence and is aimed at those working within the retail sale of alcohol.
This one day course is a legal requirement for anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail. An application for a personal licence requires the applicant to gain the Award for Personal Licence Holders qualification in England and Wales.

- Premises Licences and Club Premises Certificates
- Licensing Objectives
- Powers of Enforcement and Offences
- Temporary Events Notices
- Responsibility in Alcohol Retailing
Courses can be delivered at Mincoffs Training Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne or at one of our North East satellite centres in Durham, Chester-le-Street, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Subject to numbers, we can also deliver training at your premises. Please enquire for further details.

The cost of the HABC Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) full day training course is £120 + VAT, including course materials and an exam. Please note due to Covid-19, we are unable to offer lunch and refreshments and delegates will be asked to bring their own. A free resit of the exam is available if required.
For an additional £125 plus VAT, we can also apply for your personal licence. Please note, this fee does not include the application fee (£37) or a criminal record check. If you notify us in advance of the training, we can complete the forms when you attend your training course.
